Our school film

Your goals. Your pace. Our support.

The film below is the twenty-one second version of what Growing Roots is for. The full script is written out underneath, shot by shot, so families can see exactly what the school is promising.

The script

Twenty-one seconds, five shots, narrated. No music is needed; the film is carried by the voiceover and the on-screen lines.

  1. 0:00 – 0:04

A quiet kitchen table in the morning. A child puts a notebook down beside an open laptop.

On screen: Every family learns differently.

    Voiceover: Every family learns differently.

  2. 0:04 – 0:08

A teacher's face appears on the screen. The child leans in and answers a question.

On screen: So we build school around your child.

Voiceover: So we build school around the child in front of us — not the other way round.

  3. 0:08 – 0:13

The live lesson: a shared whiteboard, a small group of children, hands going up.

On screen: Live teachers. Small groups. Room to ask anything.

Voiceover: Live teachers, small groups, and real time to ask, answer and think out loud.

  4. 0:13 – 0:17

A parent and child look at a weekly plan together; three exam board names appear as plain words.

On screen: AQA · Edexcel · OCR — exams arranged privately.

Voiceover: AQA, Edexcel and OCR, with private exam entries arranged and supported by us.

  5. 0:17 – 0:21

The laptop closes. The family stays at the table, unhurried. The shield settles on the last frame.

On screen: Your goals. Your pace. Our support.

Voiceover: Your goals. Your pace. Our support. Growing Roots Independent Online Academy.

What the film is standing on

  • • Lessons are taught live by a real teacher, never left as a recording to work through alone.
  • • Classes stay small, so a child is known by name and gets a turn to speak.
  • • We teach to AQA, Edexcel and OCR, and arrange private GCSE exam entries with the family.
  • • Weekly plans are written around the child's interests and goals, and parents can edit them.
