A live class, not a video playlist

Growing Roots is an independent online school for home-educated children. Your child joins a small class for their year group, learns live with a subject teacher, and you follow attendance, homework and progress from one family account.

One-off £95 registration. Subject fees from £600 (English and Maths £700), lower when you add more subjects. Pay in full, or 25% down and six monthly instalments.

What a Growing Roots week looks like

Choose subjects

Pick only the subjects your child needs. Class days and times show before you pay.

Learn live

Lessons run live on video with a subject teacher, so children can talk, answer and work together.

Practise and get feedback

Homework is set after each lesson and marked with written feedback from the teacher.

Follow it from home

Attendance, progress and the weekly plan sit in one family dashboard you can open any time.

Why families choose a live class

Home education often means a parent teaching everything at once. Growing Roots takes the subjects you would rather hand over, and teaches them live.

A teacher who answers back

Every lesson is taught live. Your child can ask a question in the moment and get an answer, the way a real classroom works.

Small enough to be heard

Classes are kept to a maximum of eight children, so a quiet child is still noticed and a bright one is still stretched.

Built around your home

Choose the subjects you need rather than a full timetable, and keep your own mornings, trips and appointments.

Through to GCSE

Sixteen GCSE subjects, taught for the exam boards your child will sit, with revision material kept available.

Which stage is your child at?

Fees, stated plainly

You pay per subject, so a child who needs English and maths does not pay for a full timetable. The fee calculator on the fees page shows your total before you commit.

  • £95 one-off registration, per family.
  • £700 for English and Maths, £600 for other subjects at one to three subjects.
  • Lower per-subject rates when you add a fourth or fifth subject.
  • 10% off course fees once a second child joins.
  • Pay in full, or 25% up front and six monthly instalments.

Safeguarding comes before lessons

Prof. Rushna Sulyman is Principal and Designated Safeguarding Lead. Our safeguarding, online safety and acceptable use policies are published, and the safeguarding register is open to read before you enrol.

Lessons are supervised, pupils do not message staff privately, and concerns reach the school office directly.

How enrolment works

1. Create an account

A parent or guardian creates the family account — it takes a minute.

2. Add your child

Add their year group, interests and what you would like them to work on.

3. Choose subjects

Pick the subjects you need and see the exact cost, including any sibling discount.

4. Pay and enrol

Pay in full or in instalments; your child's classes then appear in the family dashboard.
